Holcombe Ingleby was born in c.1854 in Birmingham*, the second son of Clement M. Ingleby and Sarah Ingleby, inheritress of a family fortune from her uncle, the industrialist Charles Holcombe*, after whom Holcombe was of course named. Clement Ingleby was a Shakespearean scholar.
Holcome was MP for King's Lynn in 1911 and 1912. In 1909 and 1919-1922 he was mayor of King's Lynn.
