WTF 1
From espians
WTF 1 was the first WTF conference, held by the espians and United Diversity in the 491 Gallery, Leytonstone, London, on the 27nd March 2004. WTF stands for "WTF's The Future‽", a recursive acronym like GNU. It's generally agreed by all the participants that it was an extremely exciting conference, one which still sticks in the minds of people several years later. It had been arranged by tav and Josef Davies-Coates.

Notes
Earle Martin was apparently at the conference, which came as a bit of a shock to Sbp, since he'd been chatting to him starting in about 2006 without realising that they've both been at the conference. Mamading Ceesay was there too as part of the WTF team and worked like a trojan in the background setting up the technical infrastructure, it was the first time he met Earle as well. open.coop was formed at the conference.
