I am aware of cases where the phenomena relate to each other, divide, recombine, etc... It is the variability of the phenomena by duration, appearance and behavior that makes me curious. They aren't all orange lights, they are often very short duration though they can last for seconds and minutes, some are static and flicker, others seem to manifest and take off away from the area as though they had a purpose. No idea what is going on, I think Teodorani and friends are alot closer than I. Do a search for Massimo Teodorani on Google, you will find the material rather interesting - though alot of UFO folks are using it to promote their theories that UFO/Anomalous Lights, etc are manifestations of nonhuman intelligence... I have talked at length about this with Erling Strand and Teodorani both and I think they have a balanced viewpoint between their suspicions and the need for the data and more research to tell the tale. A friend and I have observed numerous Earth Lights in northern Alabama for a number of years. The question we ask from time to time is the same one you proposes - "are they natural phenomena?" I tend to think they are - but some of the Earth Ligths exhibit characteristics that seem some what inconsistent with that view. As you mention, they do seem to come to and leave a particular site for unknown reasons. And one occassion the way two Earth Lights interacted with each other was inconsistent with being some type of naturally occurring ball of light. These Earth Lights are usually 6-8 feet in diameter and are bright or semi bright orange. There also seems to be a connection/attraction to rail road tracks. Any ideas?
